Aegean Airlines is the national carrier of Greece and the biggest airline in Greece in terms of passengers, fleet and destinations. It’s a member of the Star Alliance since 2010. The airline’s main hub is Athens International Airport, with additional hubs in Larnaca International Airport in Cyprus and Macedonia International Airport in Thessaloniki. Its head office is located in Kifisia, a suburb of Athens. In 2013 Aegean Airlines acquired Olympic Air and strengthened its position in the market.

Seasonal Operations & Fleet
During summer Aegean operates additional Airbus A320 aircraft for charter services in cooperation with major tour operators. These seasonal charter flights connect Greece to Italy, France, UK, Poland, Israel, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Ukraine and other European countries. The airline has 54 aircraft in its fleet.
Frequent Flyer Program
Aegean Airlines has a loyalty program called Miles+Bonus which replaced the former Travelair Club and is also available to Olympic Air passengers. The program has three tiers:
- Blue
- Silver
- Gold
Members can earn and redeem miles on Aegean flights and Star Alliance partners.
Airport Lounges
Business Class passengers and Miles+Bonus Gold members have access to Aegean Airlines lounges in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Larnaca. Star Alliance Business Class passengers can also use these lounges.

Economy Class
Aegean’s Economy Class has three fare options:
- Light Economy – 8 kg cabin baggage and a pre-packed snack with water.
- Flex Economy – 8 kg cabin baggage, personal item, free seat selection, unlimited ticket changes with no rebooking fee and extra miles.
- ComfortFlex Economy – All Flex benefits plus one checked bag (up to 23 kg), free upfront seat selection, same-day flight changes and higher mileage earning.
Business Class
Business Class passengers have more benefits and flexibility:
- Flexibility – Complimentary meals and beverages, 13 kg cabin baggage, personal item and unlimited free ticket changes
- Extra Comfort – Free Wi-Fi, two checked bags (up to 32 kg each) and free seat selection at any time
- Premium – Vacant middle seat, priority check-in, fast-track security, same-day flight changes for free and lounge access.
