Sunwing Airlines
Sunwing Airlines is a Canadian low-cost carrier based in Toronto, Canada. They fly to the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.
Sunwing Vacations became the 2nd largest tour operator in Ontario, Canada, in 2004. After this success, Sunwing Airlines was launched in 2005 with its first flight departing from Toronto Pearson Airport on a Boeing 737-800. By 2006 they expanded to Montreal-Trudeau Airport, and by 2008 they were serving 29 cities.
Destinations
Sunwing Airlines flies to over 70 destinations in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, with a strong presence in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. Their main hubs are Toronto and Montreal, with several smaller Canadian airports.
Baggage Allowance
Carry-On Baggage:
- Each passenger can bring one carry-on bag up to 5 kg with max dimensions of 51 x 40 x 23 cm.
- One personal item such as a handbag, purse, laptop bag or camera bag.
Checked Baggage:
- One free checked bag is included with Sunwing Vacations packages (except US and cruise packages), 23 kg allowance. Elite Plus tickets allow up to 30 kg.
- Extra baggage can be purchased on the airline’s website.
- For flights to/from Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, or within Canada and the US, no free checked baggage is included.
- The max linear dimensions (length + width + height) for any checked bag is 158 cm.
Check-In Options
Online Check-In:
Check in online between 12 hours and 1 hour before departure. Online check in allows seat selection using travel document details.
Airport Check-In:
Airport check-in opens 3 hours before departure and closes 1 hour before the scheduled flight.
Cabin Classes and In-Flight Services
Economy Class:
- Complimentary glass of sparkling wine or selection of fruit juices and soft drinks.
- Children receive a complimentary Sunwing backpack with activities.
- Standard economy seats feature a modern Boeing Sky Interior with a 29″ seat pitch.
Premium Economy Class:
- Premium passengers get priority boarding, priority check-in (at most Canadian airports), and priority security lines at selected airports.
- Priority baggage handling so your bags are among the first to be picked up.
- Premium seats include Elite Plus with up to 35″ pitch or exit row seats with 39″ pitch for extra legroom.
In-Flight Meals:
Meals can be purchased onboard with menu options inspired by Food Network Canada celebrity chef Lynn Crawford, snacks and light meals.
In-Flight Entertainment:
- Duty-free shopping onboard, including jewelry, spirits, cigarettes, and gifts.
- Inflight audio/visual entertainment, 8 audio channels (classical, jazz, country, and children’s music), and a selection of popular sitcoms.
